Every journey is a little different, and some guests may find it helpful to know what to expect.

 

If you feel that you need assistance with any of the experiences listed below, please contact our Contact Centre in advance of travel. 

Before boarding

 You may experience:

 

  • security or ticket checks  
  • queueing in your vehicle or waiting in the terminal
  • busy areas and background noise in the terminal building 
  • announcements over the PA system
  • other passengers nearby, including families, groups, or school trips 
During your journey

Our vehicle deck can be busy and noisy and involve driving up or down ramps to your parking space. When moving to and from your vehicle please be aware of moving traffic, tripping hazards and keep children and animals under control. 

 

Remember to take all necessary medication and equipment with you to the passenger areas as access is not permitted to the vehicle deck after boarding. You may have to take a lift or stairs to get into the cabins and seating areas.

 

While on board, you may experience:

 

  • engine and background mechanical noise
  • onboard announcements over the PA system
  • movement or vibration from the vessel
  • stronger motion during windy weather or when the ship is manoeuvring 
  • busier or quieter areas depending on the sailing time
  • noise of ramps
  • enclosed vehicle decks
  • moving traffic
  • large numbers of people

 

Speak to a crew member if you require additional assistance and we will do our best to make your journey feel more manageable.

On arrival

PA announcements informing you to return to your vehicle or to remain seated will be made. You may experience waiting periods until it is time to disembark.

 

  • When leaving the ship, you may experience security, passport or border control checks on some routes.
  • Passenger areas may be busy during departure from the vessel or terminal.
