Idre Fjäll

Idre Fjäll is a village in the north of Dalarna located in Central Sweden and is one of the largest ski resorts in the country as well as being a year-round destination.

When you travel to Idre Fjäll in winter you can enjoy great skiing, the frozen lakes and snow-covered forests and in summer you can enjoy the many biking and hiking trails, golfing and exploring the great outdoors – don’t miss out on a car ride down Trollvägen! Whatever the season, Idre has a great choice of restaurants, cafés and pubs to enjoy too.

Idre Fjäll is popular for alpine and cross-country skiing as well as snowmobiling. It has 40 slopes of various difficulties for alpine skiing and 80km of tracks for cross-country, 30 of which are illuminated. All the tracks start from the ski stadium adjacent to Västbacken and you’ll love the beautiful scenery along the trails that lead to Lake Burusjön and the Städien and the Nipfjället mountains. There’s an incredible 2,400km of snowmobile trails around Idre and they’re a really fun way to explore the beautiful natural surroundings. The Älvdalen area offers two great areas for snowmobiling: the Nordic Area in the south and the Snöskoter Område Norra Dalarna in the north.

If staying warm and indoors is what you prefer then the Idre Fjäll Activity Center will have something fun for you! The centre has bowling alleys, an arcade, a gym, indoor pools, a sauna and a place to play badminton, table tennis, basketball, volleyball and lots more!
