Here is a suggested itinerary to help you make the most of your day.

Drive time: Approximately 4.5 hours

Distance: Approximately 187 miles

This Scottish ride kicks off with a jaunt from Cairnryan to the town of Portpatrick, where a fork in the road can lead you down the scenic coastal route or to the Galloway hills market town of Newton Stewart. Next, stop at the historic town of Dumfries – where poet Robert Burns spent his final years – before hitting the country roads around Galloway Forest Park. Next, head back towards the coast for unrivalled views of Ailsa Craig, an uninhabited volcanic island in The Firth of Clyde. Then it’s back to Cairnryan Port to catch the ferry home.
