You can use your mobile phone while at sea to make calls, send texts and use mobile data.
To help you stay connected and avoid unexpected charges, we recommend connecting to our Premium wifi whenever it's available.
If you use your mobile network instead, your phone may connect to the Telenor Maritime network. The charges for calls, texts and mobile data are set by your own mobile operator, not by Stena Line, and can vary depending on your provider and mobile plan.
Some mobile operators have introduced improved roaming rates for the Telenor Maritime network. However, charges may still be higher than those you pay on land, so we recommend checking with your mobile operator before you travel if you plan to use your mobile service at sea.
When your phone connects to the Telenor Maritime network, you should receive a welcome SMS from your mobile operator with information about the applicable roaming charges.
Please note that although EU "Roam Like at Home" rules apply when you're connected to terrestrial mobile networks within the EU, they do not apply when your phone is connected to a maritime satellite network such as Telenor Maritime. As a result, standard EU roaming caps do not apply and charges may differ from those on land.
