Zwolle is a great place to shop and there are in the summer Zwolle hosts many local festivals, including the Street Festival, the Rhythm & Blues Festival and the Student Cabaret Festival. There are a number of good restaurants including one of the best in Holland, De Librije, which was awarded 3 Michelin stars.

Zwolle is located near to Holland’s biggest National Park, the Veluwe (15 - 30 mins drive), where you can cycle or hike through the heathland and forests. If you don't have your own bike with you, you can hire a bike in the park. Also a short drive from Zwolle is Weerribben (30 – 45 mins). It is has fabulous lakes, with little canals, where you can rent gondolas or go on a boat tour. Weeribben is also a great place to cycle so you can really take in all the natural beauty of this town.

When you travel with Stena Line to Hook of Holland, Zwolle can be reached in just 1 hour 48 mins by car. From Amsterdam to Zwolle it takes 1 hour 15 mins by car. Alternatively why not take the train from Hook of Holland to Zwolle – change at Rotterdam and board a train to Gouda.
