Get a taste for the extravagant at De Parade, Amsterdam
On the surface it’s a traditional theatre festival, but at De Parade there’s a twist. It’s a totally unique experience that takes over Martin Luther King Park in Amsterdam for 2 weeks from 9-25 August, with a closing gala on the last day.
There you can expect to find comedy, magic, dance, music, film and more – over 80 performances in all. That’s something for every taste, so whatever your interests you’ll be spoilt for choice. Street performers wander around throughout the afternoons giving show teasers, with more risqué events happening later in the evening.
De Parade is a whole sensory experience – as well as performances there are fairground rides and a range of delicious food and drink from around the world.
If you’re travelling on a budget, De Parade is a great value way to experience something really different culture-wise. Many performances are free and others are priced from €5-10. To get to Martin Luther King Park just take tram 25 to Rivierenbuurt.
Whether you’re with friends, the family or on your own, De Parade is your ticket to guaranteed fun. Many shows are in English, but you can check before you book.
