Leading ferry company Stena Line is reminding customers that a future visit to the home of the Beatles doesn’t have to be up in the air after Flybe announced they will axe their Belfast to Liverpool route later this month.
Thousands of people are expected to be affected by the route closure and there are fears that with only one other airline servicing Belfast to John Lennon Liverpool airport, lack of competition will increase air fares. However Stena Line’s recent addition of the Belfast to Liverpool route with both day and night sailings offers a very cost-effective solution with foot passenger prices from only £28*.
As well as business travellers, the cut could affect more than 1300 students who study at John Moore Liverpool University and Stena Line’s Head of PR and Communications Diane Poole OBE is reassuring passengers that there are still plenty of options travelling from Belfast to Liverpool.
“With Stena Line’s Belfast to Liverpool route customers can guarantee low cost prices and availability whether they’re travelling for business, leisure or students heading back to university,” said Diane.
“Liverpool is a popular destination for people travelling from Northern Ireland, particularly with its fantastic shopping and nightlife on offer and being the home of two Premiership football teams and Stena Line offers great value prices for everyone, from £85* with a car,” she added.
“As well as being the best option economically, travelling by ferry has a host of advantages over flying which more and more people are realising. Customers can load up their car with luggage without any excess charge and leave their baggage in the car, safe in the knowledge that it won’t be lost or get damaged,” Diane concluded.
