Set sail across the Irish Sea

WHILE some people are faced with long queues at check-in, delayed flights and a two-hour wait at the airport, Northern Ireland’s leading ferry company Stena Line is putting the fun back into summer with a range of family fun activities onboard its vessels and at its terminals, ensuring stress free travel for all the family.

Passengers are being kept entertained at Belfast Port with an exciting new Play Zone which recently opened beside the car lanes where they can try their hands at Sumo suit wrestling, target football, swingball, hopscotch and table tennis as well as test their skills at giant Connect 4 and Jenga.

Children’s entertainers will keep young customers happy on Stena Line’s Belfast to Stranraer route, while Curious George™ will also be making regular appearances at the Play Zone in both Belfast and Stranraer Ports as well as onboard the Stena Voyager, Stena Navigator and Stena Caledonia. There will also be free giveaways of route gift bags to children travelling in cars throughout the summer months.

Stena Line’s Communications Manager, Nigel Tilson, believes the great selection of entertainment on offer allows customers to start their holiday as soon as they step onboard.

“More and more people are choosing to travel by ferry as it allows you to take as much luggage as you want, you don’t have to check in two hours in advance, you don’t have to put the contents of your hand luggage into a plastic bag and you don’t have restricted legroom.”

“We are giving people even more reason to travel with Stena Line this summer because in addition to our children’s play areas onboard our vessels we’ll have a great range of activities on our Irish Sea sailings not to mention some great fun taking place beside the car lanes at Belfast and Stranraer Ports to keep little monkeys entertained on the return journey,” Nigel added.

Stena Line offers a fantastic choice of routes from Ireland to Britain including Belfast to Stranraer, Larne to Fleetwood, Dun Laoghaire to Holyhead, Dublin Port to Holyhead and Rosslare to Fishguard. Once onboard customers can sit back, relax and enjoy the great choice of restaurants and bars, enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views of the Irish Sea or pick up something in the onboard shops which offer great savings on fragrances, spirits and lots more!
