Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have a question? This is the place for answers!
I'd rather not leave my dog in the car - what are my options?
Pets can travel in kennels on the car deck on all routes between Britain, Ireland and Holland*. We cannot take advance reservations however and kennels are issued on a first come, first served basis with the exception of the Belfast to Liverpool route. This costs an additional £15 single per kennel and can be booked at step 4 of the booking process. This option will also allow access to your pet throughout the crossing. Not only can you visit your dog but you can also exercise them under controlled conditions.
No animals are permitted in the passenger areas onboard our southern and central corridor routes (Dublin/Dun Laoghaire – Holyhead & Rosslare – Fishguard). Small dogs are permitted onboard our Belfast – Cairnryan route if they are secured for the duration of the crossing in a pet traveler case. However, this is at the discretion of Stena Line personnel and if requested, passengers may be required to place the animal on the car deck in the dedicated kennel area.
Guide, hearing and autism assistance dogs are welcome in the Passenger Lounge at the port and onboard all of our crafts.
